RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY.
BREEZY WITH LOW HUMIDITY THIS AFTERNOON.
A marine push will cause breezy and dry conditions this afternoon in the eastern Columbia Gorge which will spread across the Yakima Valley and the Lower Columbia Basin late this afternoon and evening.
* TIMING...2 PM to 9 PM. Strongest winds will occur between 4 PM and 8 PM.
* WIND...Westerly winds 15 to 25 mph.
* HUMIDITY...15 to 20 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now.... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 105.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central and southeast
  Washington and central, north central and northeast Oregon.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the
  potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those
  working or participating in outdoor activities.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
