Benton City will get lit for a promenade after dark on the 4th of July.

Benton City will come to life after dark on the 4th of July, like never before, as the Benton City community will test drive a whole new COVID-19 world deal, by putting on Red White and Zoom beginning at Ki-Be High School, 1205 Horne Drive in Benton City, at 10:00 p.m. on the 4th of July. Participants are encouraged to light up their cars, trailers, scooters, trucks, ATV's, anything, everything, even horses!

With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, holiday organizers are unable to provide any of their normal events, such as the flag raising ceremony, the kids parade and the Lions Club fireworks show. However, with that said, they have been working very hard to come up with a safe alternative for their entire community to enjoy.

All businesses, organizations, groups, and families are invited to join in the 4th of July Lighted Community Procession, running throughout many neighborhoods and downtown, so families can enjoy safely from their driveways or parked vehicles along the route.

Social distancing will of course be observed, as the parade route is expected to be spread out within the city limits. More details are to be revealed, including, coming soon, the actual parade route that those all lit will follow on Saturday, July 4th.

Your participation is definitely encouraged and you can download a form from the Benton City Chamber of Commerce to get involved here.
