Richland School District Offers Weekly Student Meal Pick-Up
It's crazy that school is starting up on Tuesday and I'm sure if your household is like mine, everyone is scrambling to get organized. The one thing you might NOT have thought of is school lunches and how kids are going to get them.
If you are in the Richland School District, the RSD announced that they'll be doing a weekly pick-up of meals for students. The details of the plan were explained on the Richland School District site
Beginning on Sept. 4, Richland schools will offer a weekly pick-up for student meals on Fridays while students are learning online at-home.
Every RSD student may receive a meal packet and pick it up at any school where they are being distributed. Students do not have to be present to pick up their meal packet but a student ID card will need to be provided or verification that a student is enrolled.
Weekly meal packets will include a breakfast and lunch for each school day in a week, not including holidays or scheduled days of no school. If no school is scheduled on a Friday, pick-up will be available on the last day of school that week.
Student Meal Pricing
Students enrolled at schools designated under the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will receive their meals at NO CHARGE at whichever site they visit each week.
Families may apply online for free and reduced-price school meals. Parents/guardians will need their student’s 8-digit ID number for the online application. You may also print and complete a hard copy form and provide it to your child's school. Printable forms are available on the Nutrition Services webpage.
Some families automatically qualify for free or reduced-price meals through other services they receive. If a family receives a notification letter saying their child has automatically qualified, then no application is needed.
