Some fans might be wondering how Riverdale is going to handle Luke Perry's character's death on the series.

In a new interview, the show's creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he and the writers will have to address Fred Andrews' absence in the wake of the actor's sudden death last month. However, for now, they have no idea how they're going to handle it because they're all still processing and grieving his loss.

"We know that we have to address it in some way, but we’re giving ourselves a little bit of time and space before we figure out the best way to honor him," he explained.

All we know for sure right now is that the future episode that features Fred's death will be heartbreaking for fans to watch and even for devasting for the Riverdale cast to perform. "Luke was, is, and will always be a big part of Riverdale," Aguirre-Sacasa said. "We’re kind of a family and when a loss like this happens, you carry it always. It changes and it hopefully becomes a little less painful as time goes by, but you’re changed."

"When I was with the crew, I said, 'It will never be the same,' and that’s true because Luke was such a part of the show. There are still a few more episodes that have Luke in them, so we’re glad to share those," he continued. "His spirit—which was so generous and wise and vivacious—we hope will infuse every episode, so in my mind, every episode for the rest of time on Riverdale will have a bit of Luke in it."

Just days after his passing, Riverdale aired a brand new episode with a special dedication to Perry's memory. Aguirre-Sacasa also revealed on Instagram that moving forward, every single episode of Riverdale's run will be dedicated to the beloved actor.
