It's only natural during the pandemic that you'd expect kids to be at home learning and that the school zones won't be active.

Richland Police are reminding drivers that school zones will be in effect and you could get a ticket if you get caught speeding through one.

School Zone lights will be on starting the morning of September 1st.

Richland Police Department says that kids will be walking to private schools as well as picking up meals from local public schools.

Please be aware of school zones in your commute.

Plan for some extra drive time in the morning and watch for kids on foot, scooters, and bicycles.

A typical ticket could go from $124 to $189 depending on the miles over the limit that you're going.

It's not worth the ticket so be aware that the school zones will start up again on September 1st.
