Pasco Police always get the job accomplished.
What started out as a report of a stolen pickup out of Richland led to the arrest of a Burbank man early Wednesday.
A white GMC pickup and a trailer of tools was stolen from the 400 block of Newcomer on Tuesday morning at about 8:30. The truck was running unattended.
Fast forward to Wednesday when medics were called out to a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a white pickup at a Pasco gas station on Court and 26th. An officer awakened the driver, who knocked the officer out of the way and took off.
A pursuit took place north on Highway 395, then east on I-182, and ended as the pickup slid off the road and stopped.
The suspect took off running. After climbing an embankment, he was apprehended.
The pickup was reported as the stolen truck out of Richland on Tuesday.
He was identified as suspect Chase D. Uhling. The pickup was identified as the stolen truck from RPD's case. DOL's database indicated that Uhling's driving status is suspended. Contact with Uhling during the investigation caused two officers trained as Drug Recognition Experts (DRE's) to believe that probable cause existed to believe that Uhling was also DUI. After Uhling received medical treatment at an area hospital, he was booked.
