A 26-year-old man sought for "escape from community custody" (skipping parole) is behind bars because he didn't visit the gas pump.

Richland officers spotted Joshua Sanders driving a large black Caddy near Carmichael Middle School earlier this week. They initially did not pursue, but instead radioed his information to other units. Another office spotted him heading towards I-182 off Wellsian Way, and he spotted the officers then.

Having seen each other, the chase was on.

However, less than 5 minutes later, it ended because Sanders ran out of gas -- literally.

Officers say he's now back with the Department of Corrections facing the outstanding warrant. He had two passengers with him, but they were released.
