HBO is becoming a Streep family business. Weeks after the network confirmed Meryl Streep will make an Emmy-gobbling return for Big Little Lies Season 2, True Detective has now added her daughter Mamie Gummer to the Season 3 ranks for a likely 2019 premiere.
Steven Spielberg’s Pentagon Papers movie, recently retitled The Papers (before it was The Post), has one of the most ridiculously stacked casts in recent memory — and it just recruited more members. Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, Zach Woods, and Pat Healy have signed up help out Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep investigate America’s involvement in the Vietnam War.

So it is, that Streep is likely to lead a TV adaptation of breakout Nathan Hill satire The Nix, as directed and produced by none other than Abrams himself.

This week, the publication has released the list of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, with Jennifer Lawrence taking the number one spot followed by Scarlett Johansson — hardly surprising, but what makes this list interesting is that many of the women on it earn far less than their male counterparts.
It would appear as though the 2013 awards season already has a major player in 'The Homesman,' and the picture hasn't even begun shooting yet. The film, set to be written and directed by Tommy Lee Jones (who also plans to star), is an American frontier drama with a handful of meaty roles. Today, we may know who will occupy a couple of those meaty roles: Oscar-winners Meryl Streep and Hilary Swank.
