People think I'm weird because I like fruit cake. I think the reason I like it is because my dad used to make a non-traditional "light" fruit cake. Not light because it's low in calories, but light in color. Traditional fruit cake is dark and very rummy tasting. It's an acquired taste that comes from Old England. So, after all those Christmas seasons eating my dad's lighter version of fruit cake, I've come to find that there's little taste of the past for me, even in store bought fruit cake. I did some online research and found this recipe that really looks like what dad used to make. How can anyone not like this? Check it out:
