Did you know that the Greeks invented the alarm clock? True story! They also invented The Olympic Games, the theatre, souvlaki (small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled on a skewer.) and SO much more!

Do you know where to get the best Greek food in town? The Kabob House! Foodie Friday's with Sarah J powered by Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities had me searching out the perfect spot to take Mom, who just got back from vacation. I was pumped to hear all the details so it was a dine-in lunch date for us.

The Kabob House has two locations in our area 2706 W Nob Hill Blvd Suite 103 Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima and the other 1901 S 1st St #102 in Union Gap. I also found out they have spots in Spokane, Richland, and Pasco, WA.

First off, let me tell you ordering their hummus is a must. They don't play around and offer up more than just a traditional house blend. They also feature spicy or jalapeno cilantro served with their daily fresh-made pita. I've gone in before just to buy their hummus, all three are out of this world and the pita is like little wedges of heaven. Hard to stop eating once you've started.

I ordered the Souvlaki Combo which comes with greek rice, greek salad with homemade tzatziki, grilled tomato, and your choice of two skewers. I chose lamb and shrimp but you could also go with chicken, veggies or beef. All marinated in delicious Mediterranean spices and cooked to perfection. I also ordered a hot Persian tea and Mom ordered from the sandwich section, a mouth-watering chicken gyro. We also polished off a platter of hummus. It was Mom's first time trying it and I know we will be back, she LOVED it just as much as me.

Whether you are trying to stick to a certain diet or no holds bar, the menu has something for everyone featuring lamb, shrimp, beef, falafel, grilled veggies, greek rice, salads of all kinds, gyros, Greek fries, Babaganosh and more. Incredible flavors and very satisfying. The portions will have you bringing home a take-home box and the left-overs probably won't even make it until morning because you'll be craving those flavors hours after your meal.

I love the vibe in both locations, very warm colors and you can watch the chef work his magic right from your table. The staff is very friendly and there's a quick turnaround time whether you are dining in or ordering to-go. I won't be breaking any dishes but I will for sure yell a huge OPA for a great place to eat :)

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
