Head on a swivel ear on the beat and the beat is don't get duped by the latest scam.
I took a call from Stuart Mccurdy right before the show letting me know it happened to him this morning and he wanted to make sure the word got out because dang, this one would make anyone think oh crap and follow the instructions. DON'T!
You'll receive a robocall telling you that it's Pacific Power and that your power will be shut off in the next 30 minutes if you don't take immediate action, press one. DON'T DO IT! It's a scam.
Stuart hung up and called the power company right away, checked his bill and everything was good to go but how stressful. I said a big thank you for calling because that really is a creeper of a scam. Everyone is using power and when you are being told it's going to get shut off, knee jerk reaction you want to make sure that doesn't happen.
I wanted to do a double-check so I started with google and sure enough, it is happening enough Pacific Power has put out the following statement:
Stay safe out there and take a second before diving in when receiving any type of click here, call now, this will be shut-off type business. Any time you come across something you know needs to be shared with everyone please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know
