A number of drivers from Eastern Washington will be in town flashing their semis, pickup trucks, and cars all adorned with Christmas lights and decorations.

Yakima Christmas Trucks will be parading through Kennewick tonight, from 5 until 8, honking their horns and playing Christmas tunes.

While there is no set parade route, they will be traveling down Kennewick Avenue between Highway 395 and South Morain Street between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.

Some truck drivers have been participating in the tradition for 18-years with their lit-up trucks traveling as far as Cle Elum.  The Yakima Christmas Trucks will visit as many as 20 towns before Christmas Eve.

The tradition began as an idea from Butch Jarvis, a Coca-Cola fleet manager in Yakima and the Tri-Cities.

Due to Covid-19, the truckers are not stopping to let people take photos with the trucks.

The truckers plan to parade through Benton City this Saturday, December 12th, and next Friday, December 18th in Pasco.
