The Gonzaga University Bulldogs squeaked out a victory earlier today against Southern University as March Madness really got under way. I had my iPad muted while watching the game and didn't notice the announcers butchering the pronunciation of 'Spokane' and 'Gonzaga', but apparently one of the school's most prideful fans took offense it. Maddie (The Bulldog of Gonzaga) went on her official Facebook page to literally spell things out for the game commentators.

He hasn't pitched in a Major League Baseball game since 2010, but the Seattle Mariners were willing to give Jeremy Bonderman a shot to make their rotation. Today, he took the mound against the Los Angeles Angels in the teams fourth Spring Training game of the year. The 30-year-old right-hander gave up three runs on two hits, including a three run home run to catcher and Federal Way native Hank Conger. He threw 17 pitches in his lone inning.

It took a Benton County Superior Court jury about 45 minutes on Thursday to deliberate and return a guilty verdict against Matthew Hibbard, the general manager and head of security at Jack Didley's in Kennewick. He has been convicted of third-degree assault with aggravating circumstance after a drunk patron, Ben Ensign, was dropped on his head outside of the night club. Sentencing will come at a later date.

On Tuesday, witnesses took to the stand during one of the most talked about criminal cases in the Tri-Cities this past year. Jack Didley's night club general manager and head of security, Mathew Hibbard, is being charged with third-degree assault with aggravating circumstances after, as one witness said, he "forcefully dropped" Ben Ensign onto his head outside of the night club.

It's been a long process to get the Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick up and running, but with some great support from the community and local businesses, things are really starting to come together.

The 2012 American Music Awards came to a close late Sunday night with Psy and MC Hammer performing a mash up of 'Gangnam Style' and '2 Legit 2 Quit'. The night featured Justin Bieber cleaning up the competition including winning the final award for 'Artist of the Year'.

Swizz Beatz performance of 'Everyday Birthday' with Chris Brown and Ludacris was another highlight of the night. Personally, I was more excited by the shoes that Swizz had on instead of the performance.

Photos and videos of the destruction being caused by hurricane (now being called a post-tropical storm) Sandy have been flooding the internet since it first hit the east coast earlier today. Cars underwater, abandoned city streets, and flooded subways. A scary situation for anyone in the path of what is being called the 'Frankenstorm'.

Earlier tonight a video was released showing a substation of electric company Consolidated Edison literally exploding and being one main reason why many New York City residents are without power.
