Popular Richland School Sausage Fest Will be Drive-Thru Only
Just weeks after announcing Richland's Christ the King Sausage Festival was making a return to this year's fall schedule, school officials have opted to cancel traditional activities in favor of a drive-thru event.
Sausage Fest is Christ the King's major fundraising event. 2021 was to mark the school's 45th annual event. The festival is the 3rd largest event in the Tri-Cities and has been named one of the best community events by Tri-City Herald readers.
I'm not going to lie, I was totally looking forward to the event at Christ the King. I've heard so much about the school's annual fundraiser and was looking ahead to a good time in September. Who wouldn't enjoy a delicious meal of sausage with a fresh ear of hot buttered corn and a slice of pie for dessert? A menu of live entertainment and games were on the agenda as well, and a beer garden!
No worries, the menu will be the same, however, in a safer environment for all involved. The Christ the King Sausage Fest committee made the decision to switch to a drive-thru event after reviewing the high number of Covid cases in Benton and Franklin Counties.
A drive-thru dinner will be held on Friday, September 17th, and lunch and dinner on Saturday, September 18th. The 2021 Christ the King Sausage Fest Drive-thru will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 1111 Stevens Drive in Richland.
More details will be announced in the days leading up to Christ the King Sausage Fest 2021 on the website page.
