It's getting to be that time of year again when spring starts and that means construction starts around the Columbia Basin. I always think of spring construction as spring cleaning but at a much grander scale. if you like driving through the park, be aware of these projected delays.

The City of Richland released a press release discussing construction on Columbia Trail that's going to slow down traffic through April 2021 so a heads-up if you are traveling that way.

Here are the details from the City of Richland press release:

Construction continues on the Columbia Park Trail Improvements Project. Beginning Wednesday, March 10, at 8:00 a.m. traffic on Columbia Park Trail, from Fowler Street to Columbia Center Boulevard, will shift to one-way traffic, eastbound only. This detour will be in place through April 2021.

Eastbound traffic will travel on Columbia Park Trail, and westbound traffic will be directed to Fowler Street.

To assist with directing business traffic, directional signage identifying the businesses east of Florida Avenue will be placed near the intersection of Fowler Street and Florida Avenue.

For project details, please see http://www.ci.richland.wa.us/CPTrailImprovements.

I'm one of those people on a sunny day who loves to roll down the windows and drive through Columbia Park so it'll be great to see these construction improvements when they get finished.

Make a note that this traffic revision will go through April 2021 and could cause some delays.
