New NBC show "Aquarius" starring David Duchovny is about the Charles Manson cult. It stars intriguing, beautiful actors portraying Charles Manson and Susan Atkins, the killer of Richland native Sharon Tate. Is that appropriate?

Sharon Tate was a Richland High School graduate who went on to become Miss Tri-Cities before hitting the big time in Hollywood. She was murdered by Susan Atkins during Manson's "Helter Skelter" massacres.

Actress Ambyr Childers plays Atkins. She says it is possible the Sharon Tate murder will occur in season 2, but hopes it does not. She isn't sure where the story would go after that if it occurred, and she hopes the show would be sensitive enough to the family not to portray the murder. But Childers also emphasized she's only an actress with no control.

Can NBC dramatize the horrendous murders without glorifying them? Or at least making the audience sympathetic to them?
