
Dog Rescued Along With Other Property in Kennewick Robbery
A dog was retrieved and rescued in a Kennewick residential robbery over the weekend.
What kind of dastardly thief steals a dog in a robbery? It happened over the weekend according to the Kennewick Police. KPD filed a report concerning the theft.
Here are the details of the dog-napping:
Kennewick Police night shift officers responded to a residential burglary on 7/9/21 that occurred in the area of W Kennewick Ave and N Waverly Pl. The investigation led to a probable cause arrest of 36-year-old Kyle Maplethorpe.
It was alleged that he broke into the residence and stole personal items of a female resident to include furniture and her lab mix dog.
Officers continued investigating this case and on 07/11/2021 our day shift received valid information concerning his whereabouts in the 7800 block of W Quinault Ave.
Maplethorpe was taken into custody and booked into the Benton County Jail for Residential Burglary.
A search warrant was also obtained for the location and personal property (most importantly the dog) was recovered and returned to the owner.
