West Richland Police Department and Benton County Fire District #4 want to remind residents of EXTREME Fire danger this year! It is critical that safety rules are followed and that those discharging fireworks are able to do so safely and are prepared to respond with water, shovel and dirt should a fire occur.

The following rules govern fireworks in the City of West Richland.

  • Consumer fireworks may be purchased from licensed retailers in West Richland thru noon july 6th 2015.
  • Consumer fireworks may only be discharged on the following dates and times of July 2, and july 3rd between pm and 11pm. And July 4th between 6pm and 12 midnight.
  • Discharge of fireworks on property owned by the City of West Richland is illegal and violators are subject to fine.
  • Discharge of fireworks on Richland School District property is prohibited.
  • Discharge of fireworks in public street is prohibited.
  • Discharge of fireworks in a reckless manner is illegal and violators are subject to arrest and civil penalty.
  • It is unlawful for anyone under the age of sixteen years old to possess fireworks unless under the immediate supervision of an adult 18 years or older.
