Well, you couldn't have anymore authoritative source than the official WSU athletics website.

After rumors of WSU football Coach Mike Leach reportedly talking with the University of Arkansas, and grumblings after the Apple Cup loss, WSU made this announcement Thursday:

"Washington State University Athletics announced Thursday that Head Coach Mike Leach and the University have agreed in principle to a provision in Leach's contract that extends the agreement an additional year through the 2024 season, bringing it to a five-year contract.

"Mike Leach has established, and continued, a culture of success at Washington State, both academically and athletically, that few have matched," said WSU Director of Athletics Pat Chun. "He has returned WSU to national prominence, is one of the top football coaches in the nation, and we are fortunate to have him leading our program."

The Spokesman Review Newspaper listed all the rumors of jobs Leach was reportedly 'being considered' for. They included Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas and his old school, Texas Tech.  But Leach, who's gone 55-43 in his years in Pullman, is staying with basically a five year deal.

The news on social media was met with mixed results. Most fans breathing a sigh of relief, but some griping that his Air Raid pass on every down offense has become too predictable--especially after Husky coaches hinted the Cougs are too easy to prepare for in the Apple Cup.
