Former Richland Soccer Standout Busted for DWI with Kids in Car
The troubles continue for former Richland and UW soccer star, and former goalie of the US Women's National Soccer Team, Hope Solo.
Solo arrested for DUI and resisting arrest.
Solo, who grew up in Richland, won a state soccer title for the Bombers in 1998 before a standout career at the University of Washington, was pulled over in a Walmart parking lot in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday. March 31st.
According to reports, she was taken to the Forsyth County jail and booked on a variety of charges, including Driving While Impaired, resisting arrest, and a misdemeanor child abuse charge.
According to TMZ, Police did not specifically say who the children were, but it's strongly believed they are her two-year-old twins. She is married to former UW and Seahawks player Jerramy Stevens. Solo has a previous history of issues with law enforcement, including a physical confrontation with her nephew, a domestic violence charge, and an altercation with a Police officer.
Solo is a two-time Olympic Champion and World Cup winner with the US Women's National team, she last played for the US in 2016 when her contract was terminated for comments she made about an opposing team during the Olympics.
No other details were released about the incident.
