Former University of Washington and Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens appeared in court today on investigation of fourth-degree domestic assault. Stevens was accused of assaulting his fiancé, two-time Olympic gold medal soccer player and Richland High School graduate Hope Solo.

Kirkland police were dispatched at 3:45 a.m. Monday morning to a disturbance call involving a fight between a group of people during a house party. Officers found three people with injuries, including Solo who had a laceration on her elbow. Stevens was arrested in connection with Solo's injuries. The other injured guests said they were assaulted by another man who had left before police arrived.

A judge released Stevens a short time later, saying there was no probable cause that Stevens assaulted Solo.

Stevens and Solo had only been together for a couple months and were planning to be married today. Allegedly an argument began over where the two would live, Florida or Washington.

Stevens is no stranger to the justice system. In high school, he faced a felony assault charge, as a sophomore at Washington, he was arrested for investigation of sexual assault, as a junior in 2001 at UW, he was cited for reckless driving after crashing into a retirement home and fleeing the scene. Then after being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft, he was arrested for DUI. He was arrested in Arizona in 2007 and later convicted of extreme DUI. He was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that same year and then released in 2010 after being arrested on a felony charge of marijuana possession with intent to sell.

Solo is a former University of Washington soccer star and two-time Olympic gold medalist who graduated from Richland High School. She’s also a former contestant on television’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
