Jackie Joyner-Kersee will be the keynote speaker at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties Dinner With Friends on Thursday. The event is the club's premier corporate fundraising event taking place at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.

Past speakers included Shaun White, Steve Largent, and Evander Holyfield.

This year, 6-time Olympic Medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee will be the featured speaker. Sports Illustrated named Joyner-Kersee The Greatest Female Athlete of All-Time. She's also a former member of the Boys and Girls Club of East St. Louis. So, she's an advocate for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Joyner-Kersee is the founder of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation, encouraging young people to pursue athletics and academics. She is an advocate for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The day's visit will also have Joyner-Kersee visiting preschool-age kids at the Kennewick branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs. She'll be speaking with staff and participating in a storytime setting.

Then, it's off to the Boys and Girls Club's fundraising dinner at the Three Rivers Convention Center. Cocktails will be served at 6 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm.
