Keep Your Horse Cool With “MacGyvered” Sprinklers [PHOTO]
We are expected to hit 118 today in the Tri-Cities and alot of our animals and pets are struggling through the sweltering heat.
Most outside animals don't have the luxury of shade, especially in a wide-open pasture.
I drive by several pastures with horses on my way home and a lot of them have no cover but I think I've discovered the perfect thing to keep your horse cool and it doesn't cost a lot.
Thanks to our friends Oregon Horse Rescue have come up with an ingenious way to keep their horses cool and it's cheap!
All you'll need is a hose, a 2x2, and an $8 sprinkler!

That's one solution to keep your horses cool during this heatwave and it's inexpensive.
Your other animals like cats and dogs will need to be watched as well. My border collie Barkley loves his ball and he'd run and chase it no matter what but last year I noticed that he'd play until he was staggering around from the heat and exhaustion.
I decided no matter how much he whines, I'm still not going to throw the ball to him until the heat dies down.
Experts say the #1 thing you can do to keep your pets cool is to have ice-cold water available at all times for them. Check your water bowl and top it off when necessary.
One fun way to keep your pets cool is with a freezable toy, they'll love cooling down the chompers with a fun treat.
