Kennewick Police Nab Benton PUD Thief – Another Thief Still Free!
Kennewick Police arrested one suspect in connection with a break-in at Benton PUD
One other suspect is still sought and Kennewick Police are still investigating the incident.
In a statement from KPD, KPD described what lead to the arrest:
On 06/19/2021, at about 10:00 PM, suspects entered the Benton PUD compound and stole between $25,000 and $50,000 in property. Kennewick Police patrol officers responded to begin an investigation.
The criminal investigations division took over the investigation and obtained evidence showing that Alexander Stevens was one of the suspects in this crime. Detectives located a residence in Yakima where Stevens was believed to be living.
On 07/01/2021, Yakima Police detectives assisted by locating and arresting Stevens. Kennewick Police detectives traveled to Yakima to take custody of Stevens for suspicion of commercial burglary.
Stevens was later booked into Benton County Jail.
