Several people were able to pull the man to shore, but he could not be revived.

A 52-year-old man drowned Thursday afternoon, after falling off some sort of "flotation device" say Deputies, he was out in the Columbia River near Two Rivers Park, where the Snake and Columbia Rivers meet.

Several people were able to eventually pull the man to shore, EMS was called, but after working on the man for "some time" he could not be revived.  One of the men who jumped in to try to save the man was taken to a nearby hospital for heat exhaustion.

Deputies did not say if the man was wearing a life vest or not. The man was pulled to shore around 4:45PM after having been in the water.
