You can't, seemingly, have enough breweries in the land of hop fields for miles and that's not a bad thing! A new brewpub that has been a dream a local Physical Therapist recently opened in Yakima. 5th Line Brewing Company definitely touts his Canadian heritage and celebrates ice hockey in the process!

My wife works at a hair salon just off of 48th Ave. and Tieten Dr. in the Glenmoor Green Professional Center. One of her neighboring business owners is Nathan Coppock and his wife Kristina that run a chiropractic and physical therapy clinic. For the last few years she has told me that Nathan's true passion was to open up a brewery but he was having a hard time finding a location to build. Apparently, that wait is now over with the opening of 5th Line Brewing Co. this past March.

5th Line is located behind Bob's Burgers & Brew, adjacent to Get Air trampoline park (at 1015 E. Lincoln Ave.) just off of Fair Ave.

My good friend Michael Dubrule visited the other day and took some pics of the new place (see: below).

Not knowing too terribly much about hockey, I had to Google search the meaning of 5th Line in hockey. It is described as such:
"The 5th Line in hockey represents what we as fans do for our team when they go out on the ice. We Are The 5th Line means you're with your team through the good times and the rough times. Inspired by the Columbus Blue Jackets playoff push."

Makes sense as, in hockey, players are substituted every couple of minutes during the action. As each played takes their "shift", these rotations are known as lines.

I cannot hardly wait to learn more when the Seattle Kraken enter the National Hockey League next season! With that, I think we have found our home base for Kraken viewing parties! I can't wait to check out the all-new 5th Line Brewing Co. for myself and have an excuse to get to call other people "hosers"!

Tri-City Americans Who Played in the NHL

Hockey is one of the hardest sports to play. Most hockey players will play the sport their entire lives, starting to skate as soon as they can walk. Even with all that dedication, the likelihood a player cracks an NHL roster is astronomically low. The WHL is a high-tier developmental league that sees many of its players make it to the show. But for a player who makes it to the WHL or any other junior league, the chances of them reaching the NHL is still only 5%. These former Tri-City Americans are those elite few who have made the jump.
