The new vaccine exemption laws are taking effect in Washington State and Pasco School District is checking immunization records starting this week. If a student immunization records aren't current, they might not be able to attend school.

The new MMR vaccine exemption law removes the personal and philosophical options to exempt children from measles, mumps and the rubella vaccine.

According to the Washington State Health District, if you have a religious or philosophical on file, that is still good.

Pasco School District says it's only missing vaccine paperwork from 54 students.

It is interesting to note that individual school districts decide if they will allow students to go to school without their records.

Richland and Kennewick won't start checking immunization records until December 1st.
