Townsquare Media Tri-Cities is formally introducing Northwest radio veteran Nik Krastins as the new regional market president for the Tri-Cites and Yakima.
Krastins, who brings more than 20 years of radio, sales and management experience -- most recently with iHeart Media in Seattle -- will be based in Yakima. He replaces Cheryl Salomone, who moved to the East Coast to pursue a new career opportunity and be closer to family.

“I’m excited to join Townsquare Media and work with the terrific teams we have in Yakima and Tri-Cities," said Krastins, who assumed his new duties Sept. 26. "I look forward to getting involved with the local community and helping our heritage brands grow.”

He'll oversee 11 brands in Washington, including five in the Tri-Cities -- KORD 102.7, Hot 97.5, KFLD Newstalk 870, The Key 98.3 and 97 Rock.

Krastins left his general sales manager position at Seattle's KJR FM & AM to join Townsquare, and he's already happily settling in to the "dry-side" lifestyle.

Prior to his time at KJR, Krastins spent six years at Root Sports Northwest, where he was a regional sports seller of the Seattle Mariners and SuperSonics, plus the Pac-12 and Big Sky conferences. From 2002-06, he sold the Mariners Radio Network on KOMO-AM, and from 1996-2002 he worked in sales for Sports Radio KJR 950.

"We’re super-excited to have Nik join the Northwest team and we welcome his experience and leadership," said Townsquare's Tri-Cities operations manager, Paul Drake.

“Nik is a terrific addition to lead our talented teams in Yakima and Tri-Cities," added Kevin Godwin, the company's Boise, Idaho-based regional vice president. "He has a track record of success and is the leader we have been searching for.”

Krastins and his wife, Christine, have two grown children: Mia, a student at the University of Arizona, and Kai, who lives in the Seattle area.
