Pasco Kindergartner Dead After Crash Near Vantage

William Cruz, a six-year-old Pasco student, died in a car crash Tuesday near the Vantage Junction with I-90.

His dad made a U-turn in his Ford Focus and was hit by a semi-truck driven by another Pasco man.

William's 13-year-old sister was also in the car and was injured. She was taken to Kadlec and then transferred to Seattle Children's Hospital.

Their father is recovering at Kadlec. The semi-truck driver was uninjured.

As of now the state patrol says neither party was impeded by drugs or alcohol and that William's father was making a legal U-turn. A study of tire tracks will yield more details but as of now authorities are saying this is just a tragic accident.
