Postmaster Says Newspapers Can’t Advertise Marijuana
It's perfectly legal for an adult with a valid ID to buy small amounts of marijuana to consumer responsibly in Washington and Oregon. But the legal, licensed businesses who sell to that adult may not advertise in a newspaper, the U.S. Postmaster General says.
That means newspaper publishes have to either say no to the advertising or no to mailing copies of the paper to customers, schools, and libraries.
If you voted against the legalization of marijuana you may think, "Good, I don't want pot ads in my newspaper." If you voted for it, you may feel this is unfair.
But let's face it, there is a lot of stuff advertised online you won't find in a self-respecting newspaper!
