Tales From the Scale: I Am in Full-On Vacation Mode and I Love It!
Last week I was at 181.4 and rising, so it was back to the tracking! I found out that I have been overeating for a while. My calorie count should be between 1,200 and1,700 to lose a pound or so a week slowly and I was tipping the 2,000-calorie mark more than a few times throughout the week.
I use the Lose It app, the free version, but truly any of them are great. It's about acknowledging what you're consuming and tracking the calories even when you KNOW you probably shouldn't have eaten that.
The past few weeks I have been enjoying moonshine margaritas on Thursdays along with Thai food at Downtown Summer Nights -- those are ending this week, so I have to do it one last time! Right? ;)
I also have noticed I am retaining a bit more water, in the summer. My ankles used to look like softballs had gotten stuck in them so this is NOTHING compared to the past, but I know the reason. I know I am not drinking enough water and the drinks are causing me to retain it! Those extra calories add up and that's why I need to track.
Saturday night I went into full-on munchy mode and ALMOST didn't add ALL my snacks, but in the end I sucked it up because you can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you have been.
Overall I would say I stayed within my count more than not because I stepped on the scale today and weighed in at 180.8! Success. :) I am slowly learning to love myself each and every day, pace myself on the other days and also when to throw caution to the wind and have some major fun.
I will be taking a vacation next week, so cue the delicious coffees and pastries dinners out and snacks. I am pumped to let loose and then, once vacation is over, the next phase: working out, eating right and if you are down to follow along, occasionally winning things! It's been a pleasure. Take care and talk soon!
