My Mom is always looking for a sweet deal and a few months ago she told me we needed to go to the Rocky Mart...yes the gas station to eat. I was a little weirded out but I love that she is always down to try something new, she had read they had started serving pupusas. Neither of us had heard of them but that wasn't going to stop us from trying them.

A pupusa is a thick griddle cake or flatbread from El Salvador and Honduras, made with cornmeal or rice flour, similar to the Venezuelan and Colombian arepa

So flipping good and I loved the pickled sides that came with them. Mom for the win!

Today for lunch I was trying to figure out what to eat, it needed to be comfort food so it was a toss-up between Mediterranean and Indian. The place I called put me on hold for a few minutes, no offense but I had to move on, glad our local businesses are busy though, I'll be back.

Guess where I saw they serve Indian Food? The Rocky Mart! Right? They are serving pupusas and authentic Indian dishes inside a gas station! I figured I loved the pupusa so much I would try out the butter chicken and naan. Well, that's not all I got! And that's not all that is at Rocky Mart. I pull up and guess what's in the parking lot?

Ok, what is happening here? Pupusas, Indian Food, AND Tacos? I love this. This is now turning into a one-stop-shop for all things gas, food, and fun. I will also mention the hot case was full of your typical fried foods and their shelves were filled with everything you could possibly want from cat and dog food to cleaning supplies and packages of napkins not to mention three freezer cases full of all the different kinds of ice cream bars and they even have tubs of ice cream too. I only know these things because I had to wait a few minutes to pick-up my order. During that time I learned why currently there are no pupusas to be had, a big congratulations to the pupusa lady, she is on a hiatus because she just a baby!

The Rocky Mart in Yakima is holding some delicious secrets inside

I came for the butter chicken and left with an order of lamb curry as well. All of it was on point, there is a lot of food that comes with your order so know you could easily feed two up to four pretty easily. I hadn't eaten anything all day and I didn't even feel like I made a dent. The butter chicken was full of flavor but not too spicy. I mean enough to make my nose run but I didn't mind at all. Those flavors are so yummy, you finish eating and later you are still tasting creamy and delicious after taste. I also ordered some garlic naan and very happy to take it home and pack it up for left-overs. On our first chilly days of fall, this was exactly what I needed.

For sure something you've got to try if you didn't already know about this gem!
