I just looked up the latest weather predictions with Farmer's Almanac's 60-day weather forecast. Their predictions for the past month of October were spot on.

How bad will winter be this year?

If they are also correct with their predictions for snowfall and cold temperatures in November, we may definitely experience a change in weather!

Nov 1-8Sunny, cold
Nov 9-12Periods of rain and snow, chilly
Nov 13-19Sunny, then snowy periods; cold
Nov 20-23Sunny, very cold
Nov 24-30Snow showers north, sunny south; turning mild
Novembertemperature 39° (2° below avg.)
precipitation 0.5" (0.5" below avg.)

Cold, gloomy weather is not something I handle well. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. Plus,  I like to spend most of my time outside! Riding my horses, hiking, or sitting on my patio.

Winter weather driving can be treacherous

Remember in 2019? We had "Snowmageddon" It snowed every day for 6 weeks I think, It was crazy and cold. Ugh! Let's hope we don't have a reoccurrence of that winter!

When it feels assaultingly COLD, I want to shut down. Which, is just not healthy.

That is why, I'll be headed to Arizona for a couple of months this winter.  I will be taking my radio show on the road. I hope this will be fun for you and me!

It's a little too far out to accurately predict weather for December-January 2025 but a broad expectation for the future forecast from Farmer's Almanac says:

Wet Winter Whirlwind

The astronomical start of winter begins with the winter solstice on Saturday, December 21, 2024. This winter, La Niña, which refers to the periodic cooling of ocean surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific, is expected to develop and hang on through the season. Taking into account the effect La Niña has on the weather, along with our long-standing formula, we anticipate the winter of 2024-25 will be wet and cold for most locations.

I have a feeling it's going to be a cold and snowy winter here. I am hoping I can find good weather windows for driving with my Living Quarter's Horse Trailer, two horses, and two dogs to head out of town.

I can't leave till the latter part of December... So we shall see!

Tell me how you handle winter. What do you do to stay active in winter and keep the winter blahs at bay?
