I read a sad note yesterday on Facebook that Kennewick's Sandstone Cafe has closed it's doors permanently. here's what the post said:

Dear friends and customers. The Sandstone is closed indefinitely. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your loyalty to the Cafe, it has been a pleasure to serve the Tri-cities for so many years

We here at the Keyw want to say Thank you to James Ortega for bringing many great breakfast's to us over the years. James has always helped our community though his many charitable contributions.

The other longtime local restaurant closing is The Coffee Nook according to the Tri City Herald:

Williamson, 54, will bid them farewell today as The Coffee Nook in Kennewick closes its doors for the final time at 2 p.m.

"I'm completely out," Williamson said. "Because of my health and stuff, I just can't do it."

The Coffee Nook has occupied its place on Columbia Drive since the mid-1970s, Williamson said. The location was home to the original Spudnut Shop in the 1960s. He took over the business in 2001, working for free the first two years to help the previous owners avoid having to file for bankruptcy.
