“Ugly” Winter Storm On The Horizon For Tri-Cities!?
It looks like another winter storm is sweeping the area tonight and possibly Thursday.
The National Weather Services has issued a Winter Storm Watch to warn motorists and residents that a vigorous low pressure system will track across Washington and northern Oregon tonight and Thursday.
You expect snow to the East Slopes of the Southern Washington Cascades and the northern Blue Mountains with periods of moderate to heavy snow expected. The NWS is forecasting heavy snow is some areas making travel difficult to impossible (in some areas).
Total snow accumulations of 9 to 12 inches are possible above 4500 feet with heaviest accumulations above 5500 feet.
The heaviest snow is expected to impact Tollgate and Ski Bluewood Resort.
Motorists are advised to carefully monitor road and weather reports before traveling. If conditions are poor, postpone travel if possible. If you do travel, prepare for extreme winter conditions and expect delays and possible extended road closures, especially on mountain pass routes.
