Grant County in Danger of Being Moved Back out of Phase 2
Our friends up North are facing a setback if they don't get their COVID-19 cases under control.
The Moses Lake City Council discussed the possibility on Tuesday night that Grant County could be moved back out of Phase 2.
Grant County has been in Phase 2 since May but might be asked to move back out of Phase if the County can't get it's COVID-19 cases down.
The current requirement is no more than 25 new cases per 100,000 in the last few weeks and the Grant County Health Department says they've had 563 new cases of COVID-19.
If Grant County has to roll back out of Phase 2, that means many businesses will have to close their doors again and no one wants that.
The Moses Lake City Council is proposing a proclamation that supports the Grant County Mask Up Campaign.
The Campaign encourages residents to mask up and to continue to social distance themselves.
If Grant County has to step back a phase, it'll be the first time a Washington State County has had to reverse course on their reopening.
Governor Inslee has a hold on counties moving forward but we haven't seen a county moved back out of a phase yet.
Let's hope Grant County isn't the first one because other counties would surely follow.
