The other day I splurged on the new Sharpie pens because I had a very important task to complete. I needed to vote.

First, I can tell you, the pen is great and the voting wasn't so bad either. Nothing new over here in Washington State as we have always mailed in our ballots but this year with all the extra business about the mail being slowed down and who knows what, I didn't feel comfortable just leaving it in the mailbox and hoping it would be picked up. No offense to the hardworking mailmen and ladies.

If you are registered to vote before Monday, October 26, 2020, you should expect to receive a ballot at your designated mailing address. Your ballot must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 3, 2020. You may also return your ballot in person by Tuesday, November 3, 2020 by 8:00 p.m.

Not sure if you are registered? There is a very cool feature CLICK HERE where you can check, make sure your address is correct, and even update it if need be. Once you have successfully mailed or dropped off your ballot you can also track from there to make sure it was received and counted.

I took mine down earlier today and I was lucky to get this photo of just the dropbox because right afterward the line of cars to drop-off votes started piling up.

Lastly, I am so proud of Yakima for making it on the national map. Did you know we have a federal judge named Stanley Bastian who isn't putting up with any funny business when it comes to the mail?

Asking the postmaster general to reverse every change that affected the slowdown of mail and if any of the postal services were still facing issues, they could write to him and he would take care of it. Now that is some real care for the nation!
