Multnomah Falls Reopens With Restrictions
Oregon's tallest waterfall is NOW open with new restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The U.S. Forest Service has announced new social distancing guidelines and face mask mandates. Other strategies will be enforced to keep visitors separated.
There are two phases with the re-opening. Today, 300 visitors are allowed first-come, first-served, between 9am and 6pm. People are to check in and wait, while socially distanced from the parking lot area to the viewing area at the bottom of the waterfall.
The second phase, scheduled to begin in the next few weeks, features an online ticketing system, which will allow 300 people to visit the waterfall each hour, and will require reservations at least one day in advance.
In addition, face masks are required for all persons visiting.
The Benson Bridge viewpoint at Multnomah Falls is closed, and the hiking trail to the top of Multnomah Falls is not available.
Many recreation areas in the gorge also reopened, including the Angel’s Rest and Horsetail Falls trails.
