This week the Pasco School District cut the ribbon, so to speak, on it's latest elementary school in northwest Pasco.

Columbia River Elementary School is located on Burns Road, just west of the intersection with Road 68, but won't have any students--yet.

Teachers moved in this week, and have set up the facility. But like virtually all the schools in Benton-Franklin Counties (except for a handful of private schools) Columbia River will be starting online.  When students return to class, the school will be able to house 750 children.

But for now, the school will be a big computer facility, as students tackle education online. School for Tri-City area students (most) is set to begin Tuesday Sept. 1.
