Pasco officers were involved in a shooting just before midnight Saturday night that resulted in a 31-year-old Pasco male suspect being treated for gunshot wounds.
Officers responded to the 900-block of S. 9th at about 11:49 PM for a report of a violent domestic dispute. When the officers confronted the suspect in that dispute, he failed to follow commands in spite of efforts to deescalate the situation.
The suspect, armed with a pistol at that point and fired at our officers. Our officers discharged their weapons in the direction of the suspect and an unknown number of rounds were fired.
Medical aid was immediately rendered by the officers, and the Pasco Fire Department responded with their ambulance. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for stabilization and surgery. He is expected to recover from the wounds.
The regional Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was called out to handle the investigation. The WSP State Crime Lab response team is in route to assist SIU with processing the scene for evidence.
