Phase 2 Requires Restaurants to Collect Personal Data of Customers!
Washington state has released the official requirements for restaurants and taverns to reopen in-house dining in phase 2 of the four-part plan outlined by Governor Inslee. There are 13 criteria restaurants must adhere to and demonstrate to be allowed to open
One of the most notable requirements that jumped out to me was that the restaurant must collect personal data from each guest ie: Name, Phone Number, and E-mail addresses which then must be kept on file for 30 days! The purpose of this requirement is for the purpose of contact tracing.
The full list of requirements looks like this restaurant may only be at 50% capacity, tables must be 6 feet apart, no more than 5 people at a table, hand sanitizer available to gusts and workers, disposable menu's, single-use condiments, face masks to be worn by patrons and servers and servers must have temperature checked each day, no buffet or salad bar, or sitting at the bar. Whew sounds exhausting
I thought of a great idea since the menu must be 1x use why not have the menu include a place for the guest to provide their information, check off what they want to order and then keep the menu's filed by date...sorry just how my organizational mind works.
