Mother Nature has not been kind to us, lately.  Currently, the National Weather Service, in Pendleton, OR has an excessive heat warning in effect for our area until 9pm Tuesday.

It's vital to stay well hydrated, and if you're working outside, take breaks as needed. Also, never leave someone or pets in a vehicle.  Be mindful of how much time you spend outdoors.  Walk pets earlier in the day or later in the evening.

Numerous wildfires have broken out in Yakima County and surrounding areas. A Level 3-LEAVE NOW order was issued for Wanapum Indian Village, in Yakima County, Monday morning, the result of a wildfire on the Yakima Firing Range.

And now, severe thunderstorms may be possible into this evening for Northcenntral and Northeastern Oregon. These storms may produce gusty winds and lightning.

Any storm developing is capable of winds up to 60 miles-per-hour, frequent lightning, and may produce heavy downpours at times.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the Blues until Tuesday until 11pm, meaning the area is under critical fire danger.

A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are greater for the threat of wildfires to spread rapidly. With humidity very low, temperatures are excessively high, and high winds, including lightning, the threat of fire is multiplied.
