White Pass and Snoqualmie ski resorts have announced they are suspending operations due to the COVID-19 virus.

White Pass posted this statement over the weekend:

White Pass has elected to pause daily operation beginning Monday, March 16th. We will use this time to consult with health department authorities to be sure we are providing the safest possible environment for guests and staff. There’s nothing more important than the health of our White Pass Family. We will assess all aspects of the operation and keep you posted on resuming operation. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we face these challenges together.

No word on how long they will remain closed.

The Summit at Snoqualmie posted this:

After careful consideration of the quickly changing situation surrounding COVID-19 in our region, and the world, The Summit will suspend operations at the end of the day March 15, 2020, until further notice. Given the circumstances and uncertainty around the spread of COVID-19, we believe this is the best course of action to help protect the health of our staff and guests.

This has been a very trying time for everyone and we want to thank all of our guests and staff for their patience and understanding as we work through this outbreak together. Please know this decision was not an easy one to make, as we know it has great impact to our staff, passholders, guests, and community. Ultimately, we feel it is essential to do our part to help mitigate the risk and spread of COVID-19 in our communities by suspending operations.

There is possibly more questions than answers at this moment. Suffice it to say, we plan to continue to evaluate the situation and share information as soon as possible on our website and through all our channels. We anticipate heavy email and call volume over the coming days, and appreciate your patience as we respond to inquiries.

We whole-heartedly look forward to the day we can invite the region’s skiers and snowboards back to the mountain. Until then, stay healthy and take care of yourselves and your loved ones

Ski Bluewood, however, is continuing operations. Here's what they had to say:

The health and safety of guests and employees is our top priority at Bluewood. We continue to follow precautions recommended by local, state and federal health officials to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), including enhanced disinfecting of facility surfaces.

Following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have implemented aggressive cleaning and sanitizing protocols using cleaners and sprays that are applied frequently throughout the day to all hard surfaces.

Employees are instructed to stay home if they are ill and seek medical attention as needed.

The CDC recommends that people at higher risk of severe illness stay away from larger groups of people as much as possible. Those at increased risk include older adults, people with underlying health conditions, and people with weakened immune systems.

We are tracking official updates and are ready to act appropriately as new information becomes available. At this time, our operating schedule remains the same (open Thursdays through Sundays), but if any changes need to be made, we will keep you posted.
