Yakima Community Aid can be found on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, a beacon of light in harsh times that has been helping those in need every single day. So much so that the storage facility that houses donations has pretty much been cleared out so this is a call to action for everyone in the Yakima Valley.

Yakima Community Aid is a local mutual aid coalition made up of volunteers who hope to make necessary changes in our community for the betterment of those who are in need. Everybody Eats is a program within Yakima Community Aid that focuses on supplying lunch and hygiene materials on weekends around the community where access to these supplies is limited. The goal of Everybody Eats is to ensure that folks experiencing houselessness, hunger, and poverty are able to access the essentials that they need with no cost, judgment, or expectations.

If you were ever interested in volunteering below gives you an idea of the thoughts and process behind donations and volunteering.

We are dedicated to making Yakima a more livable environment for those whose needs are neglected. Every week, volunteers shop for and collect the necessities we distribute. This includes sandwich-making materials, chips, granola bars, bar soap, deodorant, disposable razors, toothbrushes, etc. Volunteers then work to make around 200 sandwiches in their kitchens on Friday nights, and then the packaged sandwiches along with the rest of the items go directly to the community on Saturdays. We are fully operated by donations.
