Favorite Meats on the Grill…Do You Agree?

Labor Day over the years has grown into more than just a day off.  The "workingmen's holiday" traditionally brings parades, store sales, and of course, the ever-popular barbecue!  Often, it's a great day for friends snd family to get together to enjoy food and fellowship.

2020 brings a different celebration for sure, with social distancing guidelines in place and the mask mandate.

I don't know about you, I am looking forward to firing up the grill!  I'm normally a fan of traditional hamburgers and hotdogs.  However, there was a survey by Zagat, revealing the most favorite meats on the barbecue grill.  Burgers and dogs were not in the top 5.

We just had a barbecue at work and it was awesome watching my co-workers tear into the pork ribs and brisket on the table.  Maybe I'll attempt some ribs on Monday!

Whatever you decide to prepare, there are also some safety guidelines to follow.  Make sure the meat is COOKED.

Working on the radio, I get to view all kinds of polls and histories of various days. Labor Day is NO exception.

Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday in September.  The first day it was observed was TUESDAY, September 5th, 1882, in New York.  By 1894, there were 23 states recognizing the "workingmen's" holiday.

President Grover Cleveland signed into law...making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday.
