I hope that everyone had a good weekend. Got woken up to an Amber Alert in Yakima Sunday morning, a vehicle had been stolen but what was inside of the vehicle when it was stolen is why I am writing this, a baby!

Thank goodness a fast acting postal worker called 911 immediately after the incident. The vehicle was located but the baby was no longer inside the car. In those moments, I cannot even fathom the pain, horror, sorrow and other emotions rolling around in everyone's heads as time ticked on. Thankfully the baby was recovered, without injury.

All We Should Be Doing Right Now is Thanking God

I decided to share the info on our Facebook page to help spread the word. Once the baby was recovered I updated the information but also chose to write about the importance of not leaving your baby in the car alone while you do whatever you are doing.

One of the comments struck me

Praise God for this lil one's safety. That's ALL that needs to be said here. We all make mistakes, with no intention of bringing harm to our babies. Don't judge. You never know the whole story. Again, praise God.

Thoughts?

Mine are this.

I DON'T NEED TO KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. DON'T LEAVE YOUR BABY IN THE CAR. EVEN FOR A SECOND, EVEN IF YOU LOCKED THE DOORS, EVEN IF YOU CAN SEE THEM FROM THE VEHICLE. DON'T LEAVE YOUR CHILD ALONE IN YOUR VEHICLE WHILE YOU PUT YOUR FULL ATTENTION INTO SOMETHING ELSE. FOR ANYTHING, EVER.

This isn't judging. I can totally understand a bit of embarrassment but defending these types of situations, lessen the dangers of the actual choice made. This isn't shaming this particular Mother, this is a great reminder that we still need to talk about these things and STOP using prayer as the end all. Prayer is great, but action coupled with prayer is what I am looking for. If we're going biblical here, "God gave us free will, to make choices" not all our choices are going to be 100% on point but to bring up God like only prayer is needed in this situation is becoming a theme that is not only negligent but a tool to not do better. Be better, do better and don't leave your baby alone in your running vehicle while you run errands.

Stay blessed, not stressed and be the best and do the best you can each and everyday.

Thanks for taking time to read all the way to the end! :)

Blessings to the Babies
